Das Stimmrechtsalter 16 wurde in der Schweizer Politik auf kantonaler und nationaler Ebene schon häufiger diskutiert. Welche Rolle nehmen Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene überhaupt in der Schweizer Politik ein und wie könnte ihre Partizipation gefördert werden? Anhand aktueller Umfragedaten forscht ein Team des ZDA zum politischen Verhalten Jugendlicher und junger Erwachsener.

Research project commissioned by the city of Aarau and the municipalities of Densbüren, Oberentfelden, Suhr, Unterentfelden
Randomly drawn residents who represent the diversity of society and jointly negotiate recommendations on political issues. The canton of Zurich commissioned the ZDA to conduct citizens’ panels in three Zurich municipalities and to provide scientific support. In the municipalities of Uster, Winterthur and Thalwil, a random selection of residents then looked at climate protection measures at municipal level. The recommendations of these citizens’ panels for more climate protection were then submitted to the relevant authorities. The ZDA’s final report is now available…
Im Herbst 2023 fand in der Schweiz der Zukunftsrat U24 statt. Beim Zukunftsrat handelte es sich um ein neues Format der politischen Beteiligung, der seine Teilnehmer:innen per Losverfahren bestimmte. Zielgruppe des ersten Zukunftsrates waren Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene zwischen 16 und 24 Jahren (U24). Im Rahmen dieser Durchführung beauftragte die Schweizerische UNESCO-Kommission und die Schweizerische Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft das Zentrum für Demokratie Aarau damit, innerhalb dieser Zielgruppe eine repräsentative Befragung durchzuführen und den Zukunftsrat zu evaluieren.
The aim of the research project is to assess, understand and explain an emerging form of alternative political participation in Switzerland, known as political consumerism.
Das Forschungsprojekt «Bevölkerungsrat 2025» untersucht neue komplementäre Formen der Demokratie. Zu diesem Zweck fand zwischen November 2024 und März 2025 ein nationaler Bevölkerungsrat zum Thema «steigende Gesundheitskosten» statt. Daran nahmen 100 zufällig ausgeloste Einwohner:innen aus der ganzen Schweiz teil.
Das Projekt Varieties of Referendums (V-Ref) untersucht die Integrität von Volksabstimmungen und entwickelt Indikatoren zur Messung ihrer Qualität. Die Ergebnisse sollen mittelfristig in die Referendum Database – RDB integriert werden.
The project examines the use of planning instruments with regard to the “Just City” in Birmingham, Lyon and Zurich – from the 1990s to the present day. The focus is on the enabling actors, procedures and democratic institutions.
