RF 1: Challenges for Democracy
Democracy is not a status but a process that needs to be questioned, nurtured and driven. What seems obvious may on closer examination or from a different perspective become doubtful. This is shown by research projects that attempt to compare and to measure democracy. The strong national ties of democracy are more and more weakened from inside and outside. The democratic character of the constitution making process affects the contents of the constitution.
