Democracy and multiculturalism


The project group is concerned with traditional and new forms of multiculturalism in democratic societies. The focus, here, is on aspects of multilingualism in Switzerland. The challenges of multiethnic states in the Balkan region or other regions around the world are also studied.

Die Topkader der Bundesverwaltung haben einen massgeblichen Einfluss auf die Förderung von Sprachgruppen und der Mehrsprachigkeit in der Bundesverwaltung. Das Forschungsprojekt will diese Personen zu ihrer Sichtweise über die Herausforderungen einer mehrsprachigen Verwaltung befragen, sowie über ihre Haltung zu den Massnahmen bezüglich Förderung der Mehrsprachigkeit in der Bundesverwaltung.
